Building Performance Assessment Center

Texas A&M University College of Engineering

Assessment Details

Who qualifies for an assessment?

Small and medium commercial buildings less than 100,000 square feet including retail, municipal, educational, laboratories, medical, business offices, and restaurants are all eligible. Note, we may grant an exception depending on a number of factors. Please still submit an interest form to us so we may discuss our options!

Our Work

Upon arrival at the property, we review building energy usage information, interview building managers/operators, and take a tour of the building to assess major energy-using equipment. After savings opportunities are discovered, projects are assigned to members of the student team who speak with building personnel, witness current practices, and gather data points.

The information gathered is then used to evaluate building energy, waste, and productivity opportunities – including monetary savings and implementation costs. Within 60 days, building management receives a confidential, professional-quality, bound report detailing the analysis, energy, waste, and comfort impacts of the recommended projects.
